I am so clumsy on my phone...

typos, accidentally deleting friends, and on and on....
I realized something. I am "older," and was always a computer/keyboard user. In fact, have only had a (smart) cell phone for a year.
And my eyes..... "sigh" I really need to break down and get glasses, no matter how much I hate the thought...
Anyway... no need to reply. Just a mini rant...explanation...and reminder to you all to be patient with me 😊

I ended up getting a larger phone with a larger virtual keyboard. Found it really made a difference and less 'pinch to zoom'.

I bought one of those senior citizen friendly phones. It has a 52 inch flat screen with backpack straps and a keyboard the size of an accordion.

I have in and got glasses.

Only wear them for reading.

Realized how bad my eyes were getting when I couldn't see to tie hooks onto fishing line, and when I'm reading a book tired I end up with one eye shut and the book an arm length away!

I'm thinking it's soon going to be time to check into Lasik... there are always deals going on 😎

I'm just a little afraid because I probably WON'T be a good candidate for it...and I guess I will have to get multiple opinions because I don't want a doc saying they can do it if that's not really the case.

I had radial keratotomy in 1993... before Lasik was even a "thing." So my eyes have actually been cut vs. Lasered...means never being able to wear contacts and possibly not being able to have Lasik.

Buuutttt.... perfect vision from 1993 til about a year ago.... was awesome

Hahaha... same with me, with reading!

I broke down and got the drugstore "readers...." but I prob need actual glasses. Especially since I wear the drugstore ones more and more often (sigh) as they actually help me with reading AND distance

Getting older sux. Lol

I was with my friend at the mall, and there was this 24-25 year old at a kiosk who flirted with a couple old ladies to make us feel good (and to make a sale). We kept talking about how cute and adorable he was.

Thing is, we both laughed so hard, because instead of seeing him as a HOTTIE as we would have decades ago.... we were comparing him to our sons and seeing him as cute from an indulgent motherly (grandmotherly????) way.

Dayum, Pepper....that's cast iron!😄

It's time for prescriptions.
I'm at the bifocal point. I requested single vision for driving because I can still read a book without them.

Yep. It's time. Sadly....
I remember how wonderful it felt when my vision was 20/15.... whole world looked different

You are lucky you can still read! I've lost interest in books since it's so hard to see anymore... and I used to read 2-3 a week. And studied copiously, too...

You can get most of your vision back - I never knew good vision in my life until junior high with glasses. I spent most of my elementary years in a perpetual gauzy haze which made me continuously tired and sleepy. It's like my eyes never woke up.
After my first set of glasses, I not only could see but I had vast energy that I never knew existed.
You'll.become interested in reading again.

I agree. All of that is a side effect of bad vision

I bought mine used off Ebay, working 'as-is', from a re-seller. Wasn't anything wrong with it and I ended up paying less than 1/4 list.
