This isn't what you'd call a light-hearted post.

Being there is also a novel and I was hoping to get an audio book version but I can't find one.

Sure, all of us are going to die one day. And, honestly, some may have more graceful endings than others.
But, it does matter what we do and how we are in this life. It may even matter how we think and our perceptions in the life we live -
- it is for these things that determine the quality of the afterlife yet to come.

Perhaps certain, specific, controlled circumstances can produce a graceful ending. But the large majority of deaths are not of these. It's rare to (naturally) simply die suddenly and painlessly. You're much more likely to have cancer or have a weakened immune system from being old and die of disease.

I'm talking about the pain of death, not the afterlife. I don't think anyone cares who is or is not going to hell in that moment. Not even about Hitler.

Two other movies I'd recommend you watch @Lano . Time Bandits and Being There. I think you will come away with a different perspective on the end of life scenario.

I don't know if I would recommend Trumbo...the movie itself isn't really the point, it was just a catalyst for the experience I had, which was in turn a catalyst for this post.

Trumbo is just a "McCarthyism was bad" movie, it's been done before. It was interesting though, for sure. But some of parts really didn't land the way they meant them to land. And parts were a little boring.

Im still thinking laying in the bath and taking my tablets and lay sleeping there sounds peaceful.

No one here is able to help you if you are seriously considering suicide.

You need to speak to a mental health professional immediately.

Obviously all would urge you not to do it.

Once I was depressed and seriously considering suicide, and I googled, "best way to..." And this was the first result:

It made me laugh.

Why, you ask?

Getting out to protest is beautiful and important. But although elected officials do respond to that, there is another thing which they all respond to urgently and desperately whenever it is threatened...threats to their jobs.

All these young people out there being angry need to vote. They need to stop complaining that they have a horrible President and do something about it.

I do appreciate that he puts the blame on all sides where he sees it, regardless of their party or political leaning.

I think he underemphasizes the importance of electing Biden to fix this issue...the only way things will change anytime soon is if the current president is defeated in November. I think it's ok to criticize Biden where he needs to be criticized, but people who want change should couple that with urging people to vote for Biden.

Voting third party or not voting at all in November will be disastrous in swing states.
