if i were the president of the world

Let's see how that would work too... hmmm. According to research not done by me there is 250 trillion dollars of wealth of 7.4 billion people so we all get $34,000. Hmmm, I guess everyone in America would have to sell their house and send the money to 3rd world nations. Great idea not.

Being one of the most incarcerated, sickest, overworked, dumbest, fattest, most full of sh*t nations in the world...

Well yeah if you owe other people a bunch of money and try to get out of paying it of course there should be some recriminations... I was a lot freer when I was young and broke, I can assure you that. No kids, no wife, no one relying on me to pay their bills. I had a lousy job that really didn't matter if I went to work or not, besides there was another lousy job right next to that one.

It seems the less free and the more responsible I became suddenly the more I was worth to other people. I think that most people that pull in lots of money are also less free.. doctors are on call and have to be at the top of their game all the time, if they make a mistake or just skip off work for a few days there are serious repercussions. So yeah I think maybe your view is skewed a little bit. Certainly there are a very few people who are born into great wealth and never do crap... those are the exceptions and family fortunes that took generations to build have been lost because of people like that.

And yet there are people lined up at our border begging to get in. Have you tried living anywhere else?

i'd like to pass a drug test one day...

I've had a job for over 40 years and never been able to pass a drug test. Places I've worked have tested other people but not me. Of course I look like joe average, and do an incredible job at whatever I'm doing. If you don't give them a reason to get rid of you they won't... then again I've never worked for the government, and I've never been involved in a work related injury, plus I started working for myself over 10 years ago. But yeah it sucks that people can't smoke weed, hell I don't even smoke it any more but most of the people I hang out with do.

It's about time for a relationship post.

I'm not a big fan of being friends with girls I like. It sounds like you dumped a girl who really likes you for one that has you in a friendzone you'll never get out of. Keep looking.

I thought I was doing well.

Join the club. Well actually in my particular case I'm a wreck and so is everything around me but I seem to be fine. I'm like the guy playing the piano as the Titanic sinks into the ocean.

A Housemate..

The toilet paper and soap and shampoo and dishwashing liquid always seems to be a problem. It disappears so fast and no one ever seems to buy it. Yeah I lived for 10 years with different groups of guys usually just me and another dude in an apartment but two or three times in a house with a bunch of people and that's when it really goes crazy... when you buy toiletries keep the receipt and make everyone chip in.

But hey this is good practice for if and when you get married. Guys generally are not anywhere near as clean as women or as fussy about smells or untidiness. Trust me I raised two girls and three boys too. Little boys wallow in dirt and never take baths unless forced to. My little girls actually liked to take baths and be clean. I have heard they are not all like that though.

It actually sounds like it is going amazingly well. I thought you were going to say your roommate has an electric guitar that makes the whole house vibrate. Or maybe he brings home strange women from bars and you can hear them going at it all night long and then the girls steal crap before they leave. Or that your roommate was dealing dope and acting crazy and all sorts of strange looking people were coming over to get high at all hours of the night and day... yeah that's what my roommates used to complain about. You've got it made.

I have a choice - I can take an offer for a manager in training program at 16 dollars an hour for 1-3 months and move into a manager role that will pay a 45k-50k salary a year.

I think the chance to make 50 grand a year is the best alternative, but only if you are confident you can handle the position. Yeah and if you are in the USA different states have up to 10% state taxes like California and other states have none... plus 50 grand isn't crap in LA.
