Being one of the most incarcerated, sickest, overworked, dumbest, fattest, most full of sh*t nations in the world...
it makes me sick when someone genuinely thinks we're a "free" country or the "best" country. I guess it depends on your definition of free.
Maybe you're free to do all these things and call it freedom even when you're just lying to yourself. psychology is a funny thing.
The federal government literally equates how financially rich you are to how free you are in this place. Think about that for a minute.
Maybe figure out if you're $7.25 an hour free or $25.50/hr free? Does it really matter either way when you equate our freedom to our income like our government absolutely does? I think it's a pretty sick idea. Sick like disgusting and corrupted not sick like "that's cool" cause it's definitely not "cool".
This is the basis for most other hypocrisy in this country. We say we're one thing but we're really another. I'm sick of the dumb sh*t just come out and call it for what it is.
America can't live up to it's ideals. Until recently it hasn't even tried.
We're a staunchly capitalist society where all of our freedoms are limited by the idea that our personal wealth equates to our personal freedom, and this my friends contradicts everything I've ever been taught about America and its most basic ideals.
Oh free market you say? Nah. If you haven't figured out that sh*ts rigged yet, you're just dumb or need a little more time. You might be understanding how it MIGHT work if there weren't so many bad actors screwing you over. Unless you're making the decisions of who gets paid how much YOU ARE SCREWED. Just go ahead and admit it to yourself. No matter how good you think the negotiations went, YOU LOST.
I can't help but see a similarity in results from two different situations.
I guess I don't see much difference fundamentally between telling a black businessman(for example) he can't have or do something based on an economy that is manipulated by a white monkey with an orange wig, over a white slavemaster pulling the same strings and calling it by a different name. Except the only difference is now the mentality is not effecting just one group of people it's all of us. (not comparing situations they're nothing alike but the fundamental idea one person can tell and expect compliance of another person regarding what they should do or not is similar in any situation where one person or groups of persons have control over you or another group of people)
The whole thing is all working together and it's why you can't get ahead much without relying on someone or something else.
Keep letting others tell you how it is and all you'll be able to say is "that's just how it is" as you shrug your shoulders and accept the bullsh*t.
See it happen far too often...
Am a victim of it far too often and so are you. Aren't you tired of it?

And yet there are people lined up at our border begging to get in. Have you tried living anywhere else?

Wealth has ALWAYS determined the degree of your allowabilities and material possessions.
Generally speaking in a capitalist country, you earn (and keep) what you work for, which is better than socialism where you're given very little at great cost.
America can't live up to it's ideals. Until recently it hasn't even tried.
An ignorant statement and it really lacks the bigger picture.
Very few people ever pay attention to the videos I post - I hope you will take the time to watch it.
"The federal government literally equates how financially rich you are to how free you are in this place. Think about that for a minute."
Is that really true? It LITERALLY does? What does that mean? Where does it say in the constitution that financial wealth and freedom are equal or even directly correlated? Did the President say that? Did he LITERALLY say that, or did he imply it?
It's statements like that that make it hard for people to take a post seriously...

There are actually a couple of places I'd give a shot. I'm not saying I know they're better of course, I can't, I've never been. But I hear good things. Things that can't be said about USA right now. The "go live somewhere else then" line has gotten old to the point it's laughable. If for nothing else than that mere fact alone.
I have to live in a state I don't want to live in right now. I want to go home and when I think of home I think of where I spent more than half my life in middle Tennessee.
But to suggest having to live somewhere else is bad or worse than here, in some cases, sounds misinformed at best I think.

Actually going back far enough this statement becomes really inaccurate but keep in mind it's context is recent history and not looking back to anything else.

I would be happy to discuss the different approaches I've taken to life and answer any questions you may have regarding this issue in private or another forum in as it's a different discussion in itself.

Required Bankruptcy Course
As per the Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA), consumers who file a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy are required to complete a Bankruptcy Credit Counseling session with an approved non-profit counseling agency. Consumers must complete this mandatory counseling prior to filing their bankruptcy.
"
Yes according to the government approved counseling agency it literally said that.
Take it seriously or not that's UP TO YOU.
Well yeah if you owe other people a bunch of money and try to get out of paying it of course there should be some recriminations... I was a lot freer when I was young and broke, I can assure you that. No kids, no wife, no one relying on me to pay their bills. I had a lousy job that really didn't matter if I went to work or not, besides there was another lousy job right next to that one.
It seems the less free and the more responsible I became suddenly the more I was worth to other people. I think that most people that pull in lots of money are also less free.. doctors are on call and have to be at the top of their game all the time, if they make a mistake or just skip off work for a few days there are serious repercussions. So yeah I think maybe your view is skewed a little bit. Certainly there are a very few people who are born into great wealth and never do crap... those are the exceptions and family fortunes that took generations to build have been lost because of people like that.

and the beat goes on...
I don't think I see the US in such rigid confines. Your freedom is what you make of (or take advantage of). There are many options to escape the confines of the average 'struggler.' It just takes some determination to commit to ones' ideal while abandoning the comforts of their current life (assuming they have minimal commodities) in place of setting an example. This example could be the possibility of a life lived shunning and spitting in the face of corporate-control or concretely dismantling the institutions one feels so trapped and run-over by. If you way the pros an cons of fighting for what you believe in then I believe you will find the answer as to why many people settle for what many see as unacceptable.
You need to join a hippy commune... and you're in luck. There just happens to be one in Summertown, Tennessee. Actually they call themselves an ecovillage nowadays, but it's the same as it ever was.
