How do the British people here feel about Prince Harry marrying a divorced half black American?

And her dad wasn't invited, it's just not the picture perfect wedding I envision for the royals who spent like $35,000,000 on the whole ordeal. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-...

It's more the divorce thing that I was thinking about, the half black is just an anomaly that isn't a big deal these days. I'm old enough that there were white only restaurants and bathrooms when I was a kid so racism was a very big part of my life. Glad to see that's changed. I really liked the American preacher he was the hit of the show I thought! But yeah she wore a white dress down the aisle her second time, that's just not even normal for average people, I would think British royalty would really stick their noses up at something like that.

Most of you know Iโ€™m not much a drinker.

I've met people who where allergic to alcohol, it's not that uncommon. Being a professional drinker I can attest to the fact that water is your savior. I used to get off work at 2 in the afternoon and go straight to a bar to play pool and drink for 5 or 6 hours and get up at 5 the next day and do it all over again. But before I went to bed I would drink at least three full glasses of water, four or five is better. Drink water until you think you are going to puke and you will wake up in the morning feeling fine... works for me anyways.

There was another shooting at a high-school this morning.WTF?!!

And another one yesterday in Santa Fe, Texas. Wow. It's just almost the norm now. And he only killed 10 people. I'm sure I could have walked into my high school 40 years ago and taken out twice that many without even trying. This guy just shot people he didn't like.... ouch.

Anyone here have experience with non-verbal autism?

And I raised 5 kids and the one that spoke the least as a baby is the one who talks the most now. My mom was trying to get me to take her to a doctor to see what was wrong with her the first time she went to stay with grandma for a week. Then the next year when we dropped them off at grandma and grandpa's she called the next day and wanted to know how to shut the little girl up. ha Good luck!

So have you had him tested for autism as well? I guess you know there's a website they advertise all the time here called autism speaks that really goes into a lot of detail about how to help people with autism communicate better. I was just there and the Center for Disease Control says 1 in 59 children is born with some form of autism... that's amazing. On a brighter note they are really trying to focus on more and better ways to deal with it. https://www.autismspeaks.org/

IMO

I must be too because this is my new favorite song. I didn't even know Jeff was a singer. Yeah he went from a hunky leading man with Michelle Pfeiffer in that Fabulous Baker Boys movie to playing the old drunk sheriff in True Grit, kind of out there.. and now this! Love it.

Anyone fly fished for pike?

I've spent a lot of time on the Wabash River. There weren't any of the invasive carp there then.

Iโ€™ve been stuck here for such a long time I donโ€™t think I will ever get out.

I like the bloom where you are planted idea. In fact it was the main theme of the book I stole this Docteur Ralph name from... actually what he said was "cultivate your garden". Just worry about your backyard, take care of the little things and be happy where you are. The world will take care of itself.

How old is this youngest son? I think that's kind of an important point. I know I didn't talk for a long time. My brother and sister were both very verbal when they were 2 and I really didn't say much at all until I was almost 4. I had a big sister that was really close to me though, and I just followed her around. My mom said I didn't need to talk because she did all the talking for me. Yeah I really didn't say much until she went off to kindergarten and I had to talk. Maybe "gently" forcing your son to speak is not so bad. Maybe try closing your eyes and put your hands over his eyes and get some real verbal communication going on while neither of you can see. Lots of times shutting off one sense makes the others more active.
