I have been ill for over a week now.

Made it into work Monday only.
Was breathless just getting to the bathroom from my Ned when I got up Tue morning for work.

Been taking various over the counter cold and flu drugs, drinking hot honey and lemon with whiskey, spending the days in a hot bath, eating oranges, drinking plenty, and eating very spicy food.

I still feel absolutely rotten.

I HAVE to get to work on Mon, I've screwed myself financially in a big way taking this time off.

I'm open to any other suggestions of cures or remedies.

HEAT. If you have the cold or flu, heating up your body wreaks havoc upon those viruses.

Do NOT drink anything cold--nothing. Everything should be warm. Every time you drink a cold drink when you have a cold or flu rejuvenates those bugs that are making you sick.

If you could get to a sauna, that would be great.

In the meantime, soak in very warm water--not not enough to burn you, but very warm.

Wear a track suit and wrap up in a blanket.

Sweat.

And chicken noodle soup. It's known as "Jewish penicillin," and it really does work!

I didn't know to not drink anything cold.
I shall stop doing that.

No sauna but I'll get back in the bath later.

Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's NOT true. Everything on the internet must be taken with a grain of salt. It may or may not be true- so don't believe everything you read just because you read it, but if it comes with facts and evidence, then great. 👍

The internet is the greatest source of information to ever exist. You can't discredit information just because it comes from the internet.

If you want to get your blood hot try eating an incremental amount of cinnamon and cloves. I would recommend oils if you can get them.
- And don't forget to visit my post when you get the time. There's a video I've imported called "Cosmic Mildew." it's quite informative when regarding the conditions of our health.

I am gonna get in a hot bath with a Lemsip and Netflix again.

I will try adding lots of cinnamon and cloves to the Lemsip.

Osha root would be more difficult to get hold of than a plutonium powered delorion here.
It's a middle of nowhere place.
I'll maybe order some for the next cold tho

Too late to start a fast now as I've eaten loads, but will maybe try that tomorrow, will save me the bother of making food to take to work with me.

In some animals, and I think minks are an example, their rather rigorous mating induces ovulation in the female.

It is said that minks tend to emulate those "Fifty Shades of Grey" characters.

Resulting in reproduction would be a pretty big downside tho, I think I'd rather have the flu.

Also since that would require input from a 2nd party, I'm in a hot bath drinking Lemsip with cinnamon and cloves

Truth be told, basking in a hot bath while drinking Lemsip with cinnamon and cloves would be considered preferable by most people to chasing around a bratty child!

Also the flu shot is only somewhat effective for the strain it was intended. Viruses mutate . So even if it did work it wouldnt work if the viruses mutated. If the viruses didn't mutate which is unlikely you still put your health at risk by putting in your body what big al 1 eloquently shared

I'm sorry, Doc; a big bro hug for you all the same.

On the level, as I get older I suddenly become more aware of how these agents are synthesized. I'm not a fan of the big pharma industry or insurance racket that pushes these genetic modifiers (and that's what they are).

Since retiring from the Army, I haven't had a flu shot and haven't gotten the flu. In the Army, we were forced to get them. They always made me sick. I vowed that once I was out, I would never get another one. And I haven't. I believe in vaccines in general, but the flu shot is beyond worthless. It does NOT prevent the flu, but it CAN and OFTEN will make you sick. I've seen people get the flu shot and still get the flu--virulent cases, too.

Some years ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) spread panic about "Swine Flu" and got countries to stock up on the vaccine. Now, two things later came out: (1) the doctors working for WHO had financial interests in the flu vaccine companies, and (2) swine flu wasn't any worse than the other types. And, of course, their vaccine didn't work that well against swine flu, either. But wait! There's more! WHO also advocated stocking up on the antiviral drug, Tamiflu, which later studies have shown to not be that effective, and to also have some severe side effects.

By the way, flu first develops in animals such as chickens and pigs. Humans who live in very close proximity to these animals, e.g., in China, catch the flu from these farm animals. Then Uncle Ho, after getting infected, decides it's a good idea to take a trans-Pacific flight to California to visit his relatives there. THAT'S how flu develops and spreads around the world! If we could and would screen airline passengers much more thoroughly, we could eliminate the globe-trotting flu cases every year!

My suggestion for what its worth.eat a healthy diet and stop eating fast food processed food and sugar. Park your car and start walking. Stop stop stop using anti bacterial wipes. Your making your immune system weaker and weaker. Yes wash your hands. You need to get your immune system motivated to fight bacterial and viral infections. Take zinc and vitamin c every morning. Now heres the magic bullet. If you do suddenly get the sniffles take oil of oregano and osha root. Fast for a day or two. Fasting works.osha root and oil of oregano will kill the cold or flu. It even knocks out bronchitis. THIS IS NOT SNAKE OIL TREATMENTS. THIS WORKS.

So are you better? I've actually had the flu and it's no joke. Two weeks of projectile vomiting and diarrhea and a temperature around 103 or 104 until you get so dehydrated you start hallucinating. It will kill elderly or weak people. Most of what people call the flu is just them not taking care of themselves when they get a common cold and runny nose and try to work until they have pneumonia. Hope you're better. And yeah the only time I did have the flu was when I was little and I had a flu shot... so there's that.

Some doctor actually developed an algorithm to determine if a person has the flu or just a bad cold.

It goes like this:

Question - "Do you feel like you've been hit by a train?"

Answer: "No."

Then you do not have the flu.

Answer: "Yes."

Then you have the flu.

I'm finally feeling better than I did, but still not at all right.

I've been back at work since Sunday, that was an extra shift to try to make some money back from being off.

I can't seem to regulate my temperature.

I'm not sleeping well due to hot flushes and cough.

It ddoesnt help recovery that I spend a lot of my 12 he shifts outside in the cold, wind and rain.

I have only had flu once before.

I was frozen all day yesterday.
Had lots to do after work but ended up just getting in a hot bath and going to bed.

You have to stay warm to recover. Use a scarf around your neck. Cover your head and ears. Wear warm socks and boots and gloves. Drink warming beverages. Go inside to warm up often. Wear a good coat with down or Thinsulate insulation. Take hot baths at home. You will soon be well.

We've got all the freezing temps, snow and winds coming back any day now.
That'll be fun ....

Have you ended up ill from your trip or did it pass?

I'm permanently exhausted and run down, and outside in the cold all the time, so it's very easy to pick an illness up, and continuing working, getting up at 03.30 6 days a week to do 72 hrs mainly outside in the cold and rain, just makes the illness worse.
There's no recovery time.
