I can't tell the difference between good intentions and manipulation anymore.

Everybody seems to just be playing a sick game. Why do we even talk to each other? (Present company excluded, clearly I think you are capable of thinking outside yourselves or I wouldn't ask you this...most of you are anyway)

I think it all boils down to trust. Clearly you have a problem in believing people’s intentions.
I felt the same way at one point.

Intentions are usually clear - both good or bad.

Manipulation is....difficult.
Not all manipulation is meant for the bad. Like anything else, though, it can be abused.

It's like Evansent said, it's a matter of trust.

Sounds like just that.
I believe that when we get hurt, the trust issue pops up quite quickly.
I think that we all lose trust at some time or another in our lives.
Please give yourself time to heal, ok?
There really are some great people in the world...not everyone is out to play the games.
Surround yourself with people who you DO have faith in...

some people are worthy of our trust, some are not. Sometimes we make the mistake of trusting people we shouldn't. However, do keep on trying to trust people, just take more your time and be more careful.

Most people are out to use you, there are very few decent people in the world with good intentions. Fewer and fewer all the time despite the population boom.

Then there are people who have good intentions when they set about to manipulate you!

As Docteur Ralph said, most people are out to use you. When you go to work, you are being used by your employer. Many of us are used by a spouse. A lot of us have been used by charities, and churches and other organizations.

But we have more power than we think. We can prevent ourselves from being totally exploited. We can quit bringing work home and staying late with no extra pay; we can refuse to support charities that simply line the pockets of their founders; we can say no to anything or anybody that just wants to use us. We can let our spouses know that certain things upset us and we can draw boundaries that are not to be crossed.

If you do a personal and totally honest self-assessment, and you find that you are doing a lot more things for others than they are doing for you--then you are probably being used.

I guess it must be my trust issues that have prevented me from being successful enough to consider your portion of property in Florida because right now I'm too broke to even pay rent lol

Gl though maybe you should start your own post! Might reach more people who actually might be interested!
