Most of you know Iโ€™m not much a drinker.

I think practice makes perfect. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I just discovered my wisdom teeth have come in.

I'm in my 40's. My wisdom teeth came in during my late teens. I've never had them removed and they've never caused probs.

My 15 and 17 year olds had theirs removed in March.

17 yo was because they were coming in at a 45 degree angle.

15 yo had hers removed in a more "surgical" way, I guess...they were THERE but not erupted. Hers were not going to fit and she's getting braces in July, and it seems to be the oponion of ortho to have them out before braces vs during or after

I've known this lady for years. We worked together before I ever had kids. She has Turner Syndrome and has never had kids, has bad hips, and has heart problems, and has never been able to drive (partly due to heart probs and partly because she's barely 4'1")

When we both found ourselves in this town, my family has helped her. We've given her rides pretty often; when she broke her arm, we picked her up from hosp and paid for her meds. My son felt so bad for her that day that he treated her to McDonalds with his own money. She likes my kids... and that's saying something because people and mostly kids, annoy her.

After she left our house in Feb., we paid for her to get a hotel room for 2 weeks and gave her cash for food. I would text her often to see what she needed.

Recently texted her and she is living with a woman in another town and told me about the drama going on there since this other woman discovered recently that she has bed bugs

Post closed, thank you for your help

All is okay now. We tried to mitigate the disappointment for the older 3 kids. On the way home, we had planned 4 beach days, a day in Mobile, AL, 2 days in New Orleans, and a day in Dodge City, KS.

Instead, we drove short distances and got into hotels early so that he could rest.

Other kids got 2 beach days, and I even carried my 6 year old out to the beach one day...nature is good for health, I think. He and I stayed an hour and he got to sit in the small waves and watch the water/look for seashells. Then we went back to the hotel.

Instead of NOLA, Mobile.... we used that time to drive less and rest more....a lot longer "on the road," but he needed rest.

We had planned to eat 90% of meals out of a cooler, but we let each of the kids pick a restaurant on the way home.

When we got home, 6 year old went to bed (after primary doc visit) and slept for about 20 hours one day and 20 the next. I think he was able to relax at home, finally.

Iโ€™ve been stuck here for such a long time I donโ€™t think I will ever get out.

Having money is far less important if you have support. I'm sorry you don't have support.

As far as having nothing.... maybe try to find something positive that you have...

Since becoming a mom, I have often felt that same "what's the point...."I feel like I need to contribute to society as a whole... and I'm feeling more and more incompetent for that.

So, I've decided to "bloom where I'm planted" and to try to change my little corner of the world and be positive. Maybe you could do that, too? It's a mindset shift. Being happy for what you have and where you are versus trying to make a bang....

I do have a thought though.... everyone should gather and say goodbye as suggested. When my Granny passed, they also said we should give her permission to let her go (that we would be okay), or make a promise about something and/or tell her that we would be okay. One of my Granny's sons had been estranged by the rest of the family and I told her I would get in touch and have dinner. She visibly relaxed.

But.... idk about the advice of leaving someone alone(??) I think my Granny liked having people around... and I think I would want people around(??)

All that aside, I'm so sorry for what you are going through and just know that the world was a better place with your mom in it. May she rest peacefully
