Gift card guilt.

Yep! New day, new problems. Apparently now a number for a gastro hospital/office a city over needs a "long distance access code." This is landline discrimination ๐Ÿ˜’

You have a landline? Wow, retro cool! Do you have a rotary phone?

Actually we have a landline right now too. It came bundled with internet and cable TV that my husband and kids like. (I use internet but don't watch cable TV.) We only use it to locate misplaced mobile phones.

Is "long distance access code" a confusing way of saying "dial 1 and the area code"?

I'll buy that I did nothing wrong! Appreciate the validation there. But oh boy, the transaction ordeal was one they'll remember for a while. At least they did the day I came back.

Ha! Must be a smaller, less busy store then. Well at least the worst is over.

First, you did nothing wrong. Second, they probably won't remember. It'll be fine, no need for a disguise.

Lacking motivation!

Well, I got some laundry done yesterday, then I took my kids outside to play. Play is important, so I can call it something accomplished.

The laundry was pretty much done, then my husband brought out about a week's worth that he had inexplicably stashed away in the back of his closet. He's just as bad as the kids. It's a never ending cycle.

Today I have my list in front of me and I'm working on it. I think all I needed was a good night's sleep.

I understand the importance the resurrection story holds in your particular religion.

hey, this post was just for comedic value

Apologies for my lack of humor and holier-than-thou attitude. Sometimes I take life much too seriously.

Suggest an avatar for me?

@DocteurRalph totally not my style, but thanks.

I wish people would stop looking at me.

Wear large sunglasses, nondescript loose clothing, and keep your hair in a ponytail. It helps a little.

Other than that, just ignore them as well as you can. Humans are interested in humans, it's not you personally.

Those are cute, but that last Earth one is really cute. I might use that.

Help me with a concept?

@soco Thanks!

I've got a car idea, but I'm surrounded by naysayers and I can't find my three mechanical engineering textbooks that I have from college in the early 90s. I was driving down the interstate and was struck with an idea, and all my family are telling me it can't be done, the existing auto industry will never allow it, the oil companies won't allow it, and even if it can be done, what do I know about cars. Makes me discouraged but also want to prove them wrong.

Mostly, I'm tired of being stuck with the horrendous gas guzzling behemoth just because I've got a big family when 99% of the time I drive alone or with one passenger. Since the world doesn't seem inclined to produce a solution, I have to come up with my own.

Any science/space preferences? Like... milky way, moon, nebula?

I've mostly been googling "science space nature aesthetic" and the stuff looks gorgeous (mountains/stars/water) but I'm always paranoid whatever I select will be someone's art and they'll find out and blast me for stealing.

Thanks! I like planets and moons best, but ideally I'd like something that represents my name "smiley" and is beautiful or cheerful. On another discussion site I have the "Pale Blue Dot" image as a profile backdrop, and on Twitter I have the moon as my header image, but on both of those I have a different avatar not related to space at all. Once I find one that I like, I usually keep it for years if not forever.
