List of "HOW DARE YOU" LIES I was once made to believe:

I agree that traditional parenting assumes that you have to be dishonest with your kids about certain things. And that for the most part...this is wrong.

The Santa Claus thing seems to me to be the worse offender, it doesn't make any sense and is a dumb myth. Give your kids presents and tell them you love them. You don't need to tell them a bs story about a mythical beast.

Logic and critical thinking skills need to be implemented in public school curriculum at an early age.

People should be taught how to do basic taxes (like if you're single and don't own a home level) and stuff like you mention in school.

If you live in a non-urban area with unreliable public transport, you should be taught how to drive in public school from an early age (unless your parents request an opt out).

Those are some ideas I just thought up about making kids better prepared for life, though I haven't thought them through the driving thing that carefully.

Straight/Bi men: Have you ever met a woman that made you have trouble trusting women generally or wish you weren't into women anymore?

As a straight man, to answer whether I ever wished I was not straight because of an experience with a woman, the answer is no. though I grew up in a time and place where the kids in class used terms like "gay" and others as insults. So I'm sure that is something that has been absorbed into my subconscious for the worse.

As far as if I had experiences that made me trust women less...absolutely.

Probably the most traumatic was experiences in elementary school where I was bullied by a group of girls. It did give me trust issues when it comes to women.

I would actually probably like to see it if they did!

Maybe it could clue me in to the psychology of time wasting assholes and by understanding their psychology I could better relate to why someone might be a worthless blight on this species like they are.

Clearly being so much more human than they, I'm having trouble relating with the animal criminals.

Well..its a kids book so the theme is a bit more sesame street than all that...still, a wonderful story.

I've been trying listen to Congressional hearings lately.

wouldnt it be nice if there was a politician that would be somewhere along the lines of.. " ok we got x as the problem i got y as the solution.. explains x. .and explains y = explains z (outcome) no catch no tricks .. how bout that ? lets go pass the vote! "

That actually does happen...more or less.

Problem is they tend to leave out the part of which special interests benefit from sovling that specific problem and then another congressman will point that out and say "the thing you're saying is a problem isn't really a problem." And use cherry picked data points to prove their point.

Also there is a lot of posturing. Like the whole thing about giving aid to states for the pandemic...from what i understand, behind closed doors republicans were never really opposed to this but some members were outspoken critics of the idea as a bargaining technique. Say you don't want something you actually want so that when you "give" it to the other side during negotiation it seems like a concession.

Republicans are going to fold hard on that talking point in fhe next aid package from what i've been hearing.

It's not supposed to require moderation for replies for long term users. For some reason this wasn't applying to Lano. However, this should be fixed now. :)

Thanks!

@Padre_J_Roulston Can I bother you to approve my response?

Is there something wrong with the code for this site? why did soco's comment go through but mine did not? Is it because I quoted her? but if that is why why did hers go through in the first place?

If you listen very carefully the side that is losing will raise every old conspiracy theory still in Brietbarts or Qanons toilet. They throw ****shit hoping some of it sticks to the other side.

I was listening to the bill barr hearing and the ranking republican was just like "well OBMAMAAAAAAAA" and yes that was a waste of time.

But it was also a waste of time for Jerry to ask vague questions that we all know the answer to and to not give barr a chance to completely answer certain questions.

I don't love what i've heard from Jerry Nadler others i have heard are better.
