I have been ill for over a week now.

Truth be told, basking in a hot bath while drinking Lemsip with cinnamon and cloves would be considered preferable by most people to chasing around a bratty child!

Just as long as it raises your body temperature!

Oh, I think everything matters . . . that everything is interconnected, and that nothing is ever, ever forgotten.

In some animals, and I think minks are an example, their rather rigorous mating induces ovulation in the female.

It is said that minks tend to emulate those "Fifty Shades of Grey" characters.

How do you stop a panic attack.

Now, imagine it's not 2018 A.D., but 50,000 B.C.

You are living with your clan in the Dordogne region of southwestern France, in what will later be known as the Lascaux cave.

It's your turn to go fishing today. You take your ivory hook, your fishing line and your pole, and some worms for bait, and you go down to the creek to try your luck. You've been there about an hour when you get the feeling you're being watched. You slowly turn your head around, and sure enough, there's a sabre-toothed tiger about 20 meters away, staring at you through the foliage. The big cat is crouching, and his hips are swaying. He's getting ready to make his attack run.

Now, THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the cause for a true panic attack. What we have facing us today--for the most part--pales in comparison to such a scenario.

Today we may be shunned, laid off, fired, castigated, disgraced, abandoned, mocked, molested, mugged or slugged--but most likely nothing is going to eat us afterwards.

Think about that: no matter what happens, you're not going to be eaten.

And, if you're worried about that, just eat things that would make you taste bad.

Hope this helps! ;-)

Supposedly Errol Flynn used to castrate sheep with his teeth.

HEAT. If you have the cold or flu, heating up your body wreaks havoc upon those viruses.

Do NOT drink anything cold--nothing. Everything should be warm. Every time you drink a cold drink when you have a cold or flu rejuvenates those bugs that are making you sick.

If you could get to a sauna, that would be great.

In the meantime, soak in very warm water--not not enough to burn you, but very warm.

Wear a track suit and wrap up in a blanket.

Sweat.

And chicken noodle soup. It's known as "Jewish penicillin," and it really does work!

An interesting perspective on the whole "transgender" thing.

I know that there are true transgender people, who are born with hermaphroditic anatomies. And there MAY be some neurological differences between people that incline them toward certain "gender behaviors."

But I honestly think that there is an epidemic of people who "self-identify" as a member of the opposite s*e*x simply because they envy people of that s*e*x.

An example: when I was in the Army, we had a young female soldier who started crying one day. She was a young Caucasian woman. When we asked what was wrong, she said, "I wasn't born black!" She admired everything about black culture: the music, the mannerisms, the dialects. And she was actually crying because she was not born black.

A couple of years ago, a white woman "self-identified" as a black woman and headed up a local chapter of the NAACP. She was kicked out after her "whiteness" was discovered. (I don't really know why a white person could not serve in a leadership position of the NAACP--sounds somewhat racist to me.)

Some of the fall-out from all of this "self-identifying" includes girls going into boys' locker rooms and vice versa. And MEN who "self-identify" as women are edging out real women in competitive female sports.

I believe that the psychology community is doing people a grave disservice by not being forthright with the vast majority of these "self-identifying" people, who should be told that "it's in their head" rather than an issue that would involve hormones and surgery.

If I told my psychologist, "I self-identify as a zebra," I'm sure I would be referred to a therapist rather than getting gene transplants and major surgery!
