Geeze Robbie.
Being a caretaker is both a great feeling, but also a big burden at times.
I don't know your landlord, so it is hard to say.
If you are uncomfortable with the idea, just tell her/him so.
You've got a life to live too.
Maybe some recommendations for them about daycare.
Good luck.

No worries. I am celebrating making it to a 3 octave singing range today. I have been singing now 6 months. When i first started i could barely sing in tune. So the videos I sent you was when i started. My friends didnt think i could do it. They were not very supportive.now iI am covering white snake. Long long hours practicing.

Everybody performs favors, but it's your landlord. An agreement is in order and you must be careful not to piss him off and harm your living arrangements. Tell him that and he should understand that a favor or good turn works until the other person doesn't want to do it anymore.

Also, what exactly is this 'dirty work's? If it takes more of your time than is necessary you should be compensated.

What do you think might happen if you said no?

Or, 'I can't right now because of personal obligations but how about this Thursday...?'

As for retrieving the mail can you get his at the same time you pick up yours? That does not put you out too much I wouldn't think. You might need an extra key or whatever you use to access it.

A landlord shouldn't really ask you to do anything without taking money off your rent.

He tells you his problems so you know how bad off he is and will continue to help him.

Well, there's nothing wrong with helping a fellow human....even to the point of some self sacrifice. In fact, I think there is too little helping/connecting with our fellow humans.

Having said that, it seems like you have really done your part in helping him. Maybe you can remind him that you have things to do too and tell him you will be avail at certain yime periods....ex: Tuesday afternoons. And if he needs more hours of help, you can use a little help with groceries or something....

Before talking to your landlord, walk a mile in his moccasins. Imagine what it would be like to be old and disabled, with no family around to help you.

Not saying you should be a slave--just saying to think what it would be like to trade places with him.

Sherlock. Thanks. I already did concider his situation and that is why i did free work for him for 3 months. He should have compensated me something. Not even a thank you. Today he told me in. An aggressive tone that the floors need to be moped over because I didnt do the job correctly. I set him straight and told him i got my own life and he needs a home health worker.
. So hhe now knows the free labor is over. Hh

You did a lot to help him out. He should have shown his appreciation. He didn't though, and you moved on from that situation, which is great. He had no right to talk to you in a snotty or aggressive tone of voice when you did nothing but help him

I wholeheartedly agree with @PepperJ.
I still would suggest though that this particular incident not dampen your resolve to help others, be they disabled or not. One bad apple should have little effect on the ones still in the orchard.

Agree!

I think we are all "helpers" on here who probably tend to get taken advantage of more often than we would care to admit.
