The things I enjoy most, that I define myself by, are contradictory.

I won't choose. I feel like I have to keep parts of myself hidden from pretty much everyone, different groups of people get an entirely different me.

Apparently my hobbies are not compatible with my religious beliefs or with my political leanings, my political leanings are not compatible with my religion. I, personally, see no conflict, but I face no end of opposition when people from one area of my life find out that the other areas exist.

Thatโ€™s their problem. Not yours. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™m very contradictory to myself.

What can I do on the internet?

Iโ€™m the opposite. ๐Ÿ˜…

I despise history and the like.
I enjoy works of science fiction, math, sciences, etc.

Learn some engineering! Lots of resources online for that. And DIY projects are fun.

We should make this a secular site.

Don't hide your faith, just avoid the "hard sell" of actually proselytizing and quoting scripture with the intent of winning converts.

Never attack other religious faiths, or a person's lack of spirituality.

This basically means- discuss religion carefully. Do not force your religion down the throats of others, AND do not use religion as a means of insulting others, insulting because of their religion or anything of the sort.

Just as you are able to have a discussion about how you donโ€™t like religion- others are free to have a discussion about the fact they do, as long as it doesnโ€™t lead to attacks in either direction.

Discussing religion is a dangerous topic because of the sensitivity of it. Many people have been harmed by one religion or another. Many people have also been โ€œsavedโ€ by it and had religion bring reason to their life.
EVEN IF there is no God, even if religion is a โ€œcultโ€- it has brought happiness to very many people. It has given people a means to put effort into their lives. It has brought people into groups of friends where they would have otherwise been lonely.
Iโ€™ve been hurt by religion in the past as well- but Iโ€™ve also watched people that had given up on life and become borderline criminal transform and become honest, good people because of it.

Iโ€™m truly sorry that you had a poor experience with religion. Thatโ€™s unfortunate.
We cannot shut down the ability to ask somebody for help just because somebody else had a bad experience with it.

You are welcome to share your bad experience if somebody is asking for feedback on joining a religion as long as you keep your experience neutral and non-aggressive.

Sorry it took me so long to send out those emails. ๐Ÿ˜…

This site has actually been running since November-ish(?) last year. So weโ€™ve been up and running for a while. ๐Ÿ˜„

If theyโ€™re questions I can answer- my shoutbox is always open. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Or toss up a post. Whatever works. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I didnโ€™t. It was saved by the owners of HelpToGo. Thatโ€™s why a lot of the data is a little messed up- they formatted the data to fit their site and it got a little janky, then we had to format it again to get it here. Pictures were lost, and a pretty good chunk of other info like profile details, anaonymous replies, shouts, etc. but at least the majority of posts and replies are around. ๐Ÿ˜„
