I just tried doing a second set of exercises for the day...

They were not successful.

I know that I just started exercising relatively recently, but still to not be able to do two sets per day, hours apart...

GAH!!!

I've just started working out again in the last couple months. Good luck to you, I know it's hard to get it going. I'm sure that if you keep it up, though, in a couple weeks, you will notice a difference

I realized how weak I was when we were moving, and I don't want to get WEAKER....ending up being that little old lady who can't do anything years down the road...

All I can say is that for me, It's going to be a looooong, slooooow road.

I'm fearful of how long it's going to be too.

A few years ago... maybe 5... I was working out, and after a week, I could already add to my numbers. Now It's been almost 2 weeks, and I can't notice any improvement.

Perhaps I'm being... not hard on myself... but perhaps my expectations aren't what they should be.

Iโ€™ve got messed up ankles/knees. Iโ€™m in the worst shape of my life, and have more joint issues than most 60 year-olds... havenโ€™t been able to work out in a long time. Trying to get myself to do little things- but like you said, my expectations for what I want to be able to do are so high that itโ€™s difficult to stay motivated. ๐Ÿ˜ž

But I guess the thing to keep in mind is that every little bit helps when you are progressing! You have to start low and slowly work your way up!

I've been a "gym rat" off and on throughout my life. As long as medical issues/psychological issues/and every day overwhelming issues didn't prevent it, I tried to work out and be healthy

The thing is....in all of these "gym rat" bouts (some of them lasted months...and then got out of the gym for whatever reason...and some were years long stints of healthy living)

I could never run. I would go to the gym EVERY SINGLE DAY and do all of the things I could do...and then would try to train myself to run. At the end of one 2 year gym stint, of going DAILY, I could run for SIX MINUTES. That's it. Lots of reasons why, but...it sucks

Right now, I've been going to the gym for a couple months. I can run for about 15 seconds.

It just takes time. And you WILL see result. If nothing else, it will help psychologically and help you "clear your head." But it will go much further than that....before YOU notice stuff, your body will notice stuff....your sugars will go down; your heart rate will stabalize with exercise; your blood will flow better; your vessels will open up; your organs will start to work better; your food will digest faster and easier. And then, add the fact that you will start see see physical, aesthetic improvements in yourself, and it will be great and will spur you on.

But it will take time and lots of effort......Someone once said that nobody wants to start anything "as a beginner..." and that is why most people don't start/try/learn something new. Realize you have to put in your "beginner" phase. And let your body take as long as it needs to take as a "beginner." It will pay off

First the thought. Than comes action. Breaking inertia is the hardest. Than the consistency. Than the i can do this mindset. Than the begining of your transformation both physical mental. Spiritual. Than the rewiring of your brain with more serotonin. More dopamine more endorphins. Less cortisol and less adrenaline. Than the comitment. Than the results. Dont worry at first about how much you do. Just do..

I was exactly the same. I hated running, until i got off the treadmill and ran outside and I loved it. I could do 10km outside but cant last a mile on the treadmill.

I started working out again the last 2 nights. my arms are aching but im forcing myself to do atleast the same if not more. remember to take rest days, they really are important and you will come back stronger

Even some people who I know to be quite physically active found it one of the most challenging.

I made it through 11 minutes of the fit test and I could barely walk for the next five days.

Have you talked with your doctor Aria? I highly recommend you do so before starting any excersize regiment, especially us females.
And I'm from Illinois actually, not Ohio though I did go to OSU.

lol i agree, i like the 21 day fit workouts, although i dont follow the eating plan the pilates and other workouts are fun for me.

Yup, I have. I hadn't at the time I decided to test out Insnity though - I wanted to check it out as a friend highly recommended it at the time. I didn't go near it after that. Lol.

This time though, my doctor is pretty involved with my health due to issues that arose with my thyroid and liver. My gym stuff is mainly me trying to be more proactive with my health since I've been clean from opiates. But I figure once a week with my personal trainer (with my doctor's approval) should get me onto a path until I feel confident ramping up the fitness I actually want to do more regularly. Such as boxing classes, and going back to my Krav Maga training.
