How do we keep this one?

The help site has been through hard times and a few incarnations. This really feels like the classic old version. I like it. I hope to stay. The original Help was popular and hopefully helpful to many people. How can we make this site known so that it can be very active again?

It's pretty much at the top of a Google search now.

When it first started you had to go through 3 or 4 pages to find it

Well then, that's something! I guess next we need to make sure it looks welcoming and useful with the kind of questions that people can relate to?

The trouble with word and mouth is people want this to be there โ€œsecret placeโ€ so for some itโ€™s a bad idea.
People already know me and how involved I am on this site, so it does not bother me.
I will be telling others. If they come then win win. If not then at least Iโ€™ve tried.

The best way to increase SEO (How high it shows up in Google's Search results) is actually just by using the site! The more visitors, both recurring and new, that we have- the more Google helps other people find us. Posting and replying both help increase our standing in Google since it makes us more "popular" so Google (and other search engines) help users to find us because they see that we are useful.

Putting Ads on Google would also bring a lot, but they cost money and currently this site is a pure negative. (Although not TOO bad.)

Yep, this is definitely my safe place. Plus I have no friends to tell.

I've recently read about domain authority ranking, what's your opinion on that one?

I was going to advertise this place years ago but then someone said not to due to it being โ€œthe only place they felt safeโ€
Sad really how so many secrets have to be kept in the first place.๐Ÿ˜•

I definitely understand the secrets thing- but that's what an alias and/or anonymous is for. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Still. Some people prefer to have a safe place, and that's okay. The chances of you inviting somebody and that person being someone that another member knows in real life is very slim though. I think let others worry about themselves and make their own decisions, and you do the same. ๐Ÿ™‚

So far- I've known it to be essentially a theoretical (probably wrong word there- I mean "not highly used/respected outside of certain browsers/apps/engines/etc") measure of how well you're doing SEO-wise rather than being a replacement.

From what I've read it doesn't seem to be the most accurate thing in the world, but I haven't followed up with it much as of late.

I've tried many key words but it doesn't appear on google search. It depends where you live though. The closest thing I found was "help to go to the toilet" lol!!!

I think you mean "ad hoc"? Marginal, obscure, niche?

I think ad hoc covers it. Anyway- I'm sure our score here is quite low, as a big part of SEO is incoming and outgoing traffic of which we have very little/none currently.

Yeah, it seems to be 9 + 1 + unranked, out of 100 each.
