How can I have both extremely high, AND low self-esteem?Over time, I had a period of my life which seemed like non-stop, unrelenting bad situations piling up one after another.

Work and personal lives are different. You are comfortable and happy with who and where you at in your work life. But your personal life is lacking. So you need to work on improving it!

Iโ€™d recommend going to meet ups and other events. Join groups in your area with like minded people.

I wholeheartedly agree with @PepperJ.
I still would suggest though that this particular incident not dampen your resolve to help others, be they disabled or not. One bad apple should have little effect on the ones still in the orchard.

Agree!

I think we are all "helpers" on here who probably tend to get taken advantage of more often than we would care to admit.

So I go into a walk in clinic around 2 weeks ago, they say I have the flu, prescribe me tamiflu, so I take it, the next day I'm in the hospital for two weeks for allergic to tami flue, plus the flu

OMG, Dani. I'm so sorry. My friend had necrotic pneumonia a few years ago and had to have part of her lung cut out. It affects her to this day.

I hope you heal well and maybe you should check into a suit against the docs (??)

I do know that suing a doc is tough, though. You basically need other docs to testify against the one doc, and that doesn't happen very often as they all have the same malpractice insurance.

Hope you heal quickly and that being young helps your healing to be more thorough.

Geez, Aeolean. I don't want you to go. I love reading your posts and replies.

After my flu I was hoping to be helping others more, but it looks like I'm the one in need of help yet again.

I'm so sorry this has happened. I don't know what to tell you, because I fall into pretty deep depressions from time to time, too; and it seems like there's no way out. When it happens, I do see my doc and get on some meds. I also do as Big Al says and get more into prayer and fellowship as much as I am able.

I hope you feel better soon

Sherlock. Thanks. I already did concider his situation and that is why i did free work for him for 3 months. He should have compensated me something. Not even a thank you. Today he told me in. An aggressive tone that the floors need to be moped over because I didnt do the job correctly. I set him straight and told him i got my own life and he needs a home health worker.
. So hhe now knows the free labor is over. Hh

You did a lot to help him out. He should have shown his appreciation. He didn't though, and you moved on from that situation, which is great. He had no right to talk to you in a snotty or aggressive tone of voice when you did nothing but help him
