This site bears no connections to CNET or the previous Help.com.

The site is a little barren right now, since most people have left and gone away from Help. Please invite your friends, old helpers, and anybody that you think may benefit from visiting. We appreciate your patience! Stick around a while and make some new friends, help out new users where you can, and help us make this experience just as good as we all remember.

While we've done the best we can to keep the experience as close to the old site as possible, you'll notice a few differences. First of all, we have url previews that will automatically show a preview of a url that you post in a Post or a Comment. You'll see that above with the preview link. If you don't want us to show a preview of the url, just add a backslash (\) before the url.

We also support basic markdown now! That means you can do things like bold text by wrapping some words between an asterisk (*), italics using underscores (_), striked text using tildes (~), and we also have code text by using backticks (`).

Last but not least, you can also use blocks of text using 3 tick marks together before and after the text.

That will look much like this.

We've also changed the way invites work. Instead of selecting which friends you'd like to invite to a post, simply type their name after an @ sign. Enter/select their name, and when you submit the reply, we'll automatically invite them to the post!

Finally, we've incorporated Emoji support. If you're using a mobile device, you can use your regular emoji keyboard. Or you can type a colon (:) followed by the name of the emoji, and we'll help you find what you're looking for. 😁

Beyond those, you'll find many of the same features from the old site that should work just the same, including quoting users, polls, and shouts.
