How do I convince my friend not to lie in her CV ?

I think it's not good to lie in your CV... I think there's always a way for the employers to discover the truth... I don't know... but my friend is not really listening to me... How can I convince her?

Try you best to explain that is morally wrong and they will get caught. But, honestly, if they are insistent on lying let them learn the lesson the hard way

One of my friends completely made up her cv, and they didnt bother to check as she came from a different country.. Got the job and they were happy with her..

Hope your friend will choose to get her job in a moral way though..

She's going to do what she's going to do. I agree, it's usually not worth the risk of getting caught, but all you can do is tell her.

If it's a job she's not qualified for and won't get if she doesn't lie, then you probably won't be able to dissuade her. Sounds like her morals just really aren't that high. Why is she your friend again?

Simply put, you don't. Say how you feel but if she lies anyway it is completely out of your hands. She may never be found out but she is the one who has to go to that job everyday with that lie and knowing it. And every single day that that guilty conscience will be heavier and heavier.

And if she DOES get caught, hopefully she will have learned a very painful lesson. It should have little difference in your friendship though.

The hiring process isn't really fair these days. Now, I'm not condoning outright lying on a resume or curriculum vitae; however, we now live in a world in which lazy human resource drones use computers to select "keywords" from resumes and CVs, and if you don't have enough of those keywords, your resume/CV goes into the trash without anyone looking at it. It's also a fact that companies are taking longer to hire new employees--again, it's because of the lazy drones in the HR department. If you want to get hired, you have to get your resume/CV out of the hands of the drones--where it is yellowing in one of their inboxes, or languishing in one of their computer hard drives--and get it in front of a hiring manager. Lastly, when those "job descriptions" are drawn up for new positions, the HR drones are writing them up for the "purple squirrel," not realizing that after someone with 35 years' experience leaves, you're not going to find a replacement with 35 years' experience--plus a whole bunch of other requirements that have nothing to do with the job. I think all organizations should fire everyone in their HR departments about once every year, so those HR types will end up on the street and in the unemployment line. Then, when and if they do find another HR job, they will have gained some very valuable experience in filling jobs--from the perspective of the job seeker!

Ehm, I can't only for one selfish reason.. Leaders tend to fall for me! And I wish to be free from that on here.. ;)

OMG Mya seems to have a bigger ego than me... I'm not buying the whole everybody wants you thing until I get pictures by the way.

And this whole "her conscience will bother her every day" ****shit never stopped anyone from doing anything unless it was to someone they love. If you think she's going to feel sorry she screwed over some multi-national corporation that makes billions by screwing people over you are wrong. Like Sherlock said it's probably a good idea for her to make up everything on there just so some HR drone gets fired along with her when they discover the real truth. And if she does get some bad ***ass job she can take you to lunch and buy you presents all the time... where's the down side?

:D :D :D Docteur, in the past over 41 years I met only one guy who had a bigger ego than me.. ;)

And how would you see my magnetic personality from a picture?! ;D Why would you even presume it to be my looks that draws guys to me? Haven't i been shouting enough on here how FAT i am?! And i always was the ugliest girl in class and fattest, and that never left my brain..

So i had to come up with a different strategy.. all plain evil if you asked me. :(((

And, btw i never wrote EVERYBODY wants me.. Guys who i truly loved either did not even notice my existence, or didnt want to have anything to do with me.

Now just opened a huge box of chocolates which i got from my work as it was my last day today. I bet she gave it to me so i'd get even more fat..

Wonder what im gonna put on my next cv - succeeded not to seduce boss's husband heh ):)

Doesn't everyone lie in their CV????

I got away with fake qualifications for years, even got into college twice with them.

Is there anyone that doesn't lie with their hobbies and interests?

Mine says fishing, hiking and reading, which are true, but my main pastime I spend most time doing is laying on the sofa getting drunkright from the bottle, in my pj's and watching reruns of the Simpsons and big bang theory.

Not sure if ever get hired if I was honest there.

Make a new one Mya. Stash it as a Google doc online so others can borrow it to create fake accounts on dating sites.
Google calls that, Win - Win.

Did you mention online dating there, @soco..?! ;D - It is on my 'What Stupid Things i Did and Just About Survived List'..

..and wasted 15 years in education.. my spelling is still bad; my 2.5 yo nanny child was better at maths than me, and i never had a job needing any certificates - no need to bother making a fake one.. but Helper's friend might want to utilize the idea. ;)
