That rabbiiiit!

Just finished 12 hours of decorating one room.. My rabbit came and bit a hole in the wall! :O

That rabbiiiit!

A reason why I decided to take on a whole house to rent was that I can take my settee with me. Yesterday I came home and she had bitten a gigantic hole in it (as I forgot to put a barrier up around it when i went to work).

:(((( A fury monster!

When she was a baby bunny she could look so innocent - https://scontent.flhr1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-... ..but always so naughty! :(

Thanks, music=life, yes, she got spayed as soon as it was safe and legal.. made no difference..

She calmed down a bit after we got her a 'toyboy', but he was a very submissive bunny and she enjoyed bossing him around. However, after he died she got so depressed for years and hardly would move.. It's now 5yrs since then and she is becoming the old herself again..

if I were you, I'd decorate it, make it look like a tiny door and I'd put a sign that'd say "Wonderland".

I think you should try to confine it somehow. Itโ€™s not nice causing damage to someone elseโ€™s property, if youโ€™ve paid a bond you will lose that.
How big is the hole?

Which answers @Evansent also.. but i read nothing in your first post, grr.

What has changed recently to make her behavior change?

I've got these plug in calming hormone things for my cats, to reduce territorial behavior. Do they make a rabbit calming spray?

I dont know @smiley; i dont even know what is going on with my daughter, let alone my rabbits..

Never heard of such a spray for rabbits. But i'd be quite happy for her to be active again instead of just lying there depressed (and in the past 9months she broke 3 of her toes!), but the timing is not good.. :/

I've rented at least a dozen houses in my day and never got a deposit back. Half the time the place was in better shape when I left than when I moved in. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone that got a deposit back, good luck with that. And put your rabbit outside, no animals in the house they stink and crap all over the place.

I haven't done any walking there, but only as it's a fair distance away and since I live in the lake district these fells are on the doorstep.
Yea that would be nice, and if your up this way we should go walking together.

The rabbit I had as a child used to chew through electronic wires!
Didn't take long til dad banished it to the shed.

My bunnies never lived outside as we have been in our flat for over 7years now. But my new place will have a garden, yay, so hoping to utilize it for myself.. ;)

Btw, dont men stink and crap all over the place, too? Or have i just been so lucky to get them type? (Apart of the last guy - he was almost ocd..)

Only once I got my full deposit back. It seems to be more a function of the integrity of the landlord than the condition of the apartment. I've left places in exactly the same condition as when I moved in, or even better, and still they find some reason to take at least a part of the deposit, and it's never worth fighting it.

I visited the national park a long time ago but have never been up Snowdon.

Have you climbed the scafells?
We could do that if you came up here, the views from my house aren't quite as good as yours but you can just about see the sea.

Ben Nevis is about 3 hrs from here yet I've only been about 1/4 The way up that when I lived that way.

I got my full deposit back from my last house 7 years ago. I lived there 8 years and managed to negotiate no rent increase for all those years.. But my landlord was a guy (married, luckily)..

This place is owned by a couple and she couldn't stand me until like a month ago. I am still expecting some blow from her, but hoping for the best.. But knowing myself, will be fighting with her if she will be unreasonable. I should not see her anymore though, as her manager will be coming for a handover..

Thank you, JN! I'm not there yet.. i'm supposed to be loading a removal van tomorrow, but i'm still not packed; paniiiiiic!! :(((

The hills at the back are Snowdonia, but it takes like 40 mins drive to get there, because of the bay! And the view is not from my house - just some picture of the village which i found online. My house will be one of those near the beach, a minute walk away! (I've been to the seaside less than 30 times in my life, and now i'll be living so close to the sea, whoa!)

If things go according to the plan (which they rarely do), I will not be working in August, (should start a new job from September), so if you are free, we could arrange a walk or two. I haven't climbed Scafells; been to the Lake District just once for a few hours and climbed some hill near Pull Woods -

With Windemere lake in the distance -

I might not have an internet after tomorrow (they messed it up!!), so how can we exchange contact details?

Okay I got one deposit back, but that was only because the idiot sued me for damages to his house and he lost in court because I had actually improved his structure in many ways and had pictures. In fact he had to pay me for a door I had installed, it was pretty funny.

And yeah things around here have been extremely weird and I am not in the best of moods, I guess I'm taking it out on everyone here. Plus my wife has a rabbit and it takes every ounce of willpower I have every day not to blast that thing to bits with a 12 gauge shotgun... heh. Smelly rabbits belong outside!!! By the way I smell like springtime in Alaska, thanks for asking.

And yeah, if i had a 12 gauge shotgun, i'd be in jail for life now..

Really glad you had at least one deposit back; and yes it was funny.. :D

Btw, to make your anger justified.. as i was writing this post y'day, my rabbits bit through a vaccum cleaner cord! :(((( they somehow survived as it was plugged in.. but me, on the other hand, am quite finished and SOOOO behind with packing and panicking...

Gonna close this account - i hate her (Mya), and gonna cacoon in my new place until i emerge trauma and demons free..

So, all the best to everyone - thank you for preserving my sanity in the last 3 months (still pray for me if you can), and i look forward to smelling Docteur one day.. ;)

Set up Facebook friends and we can do it from there if you like.

I might have some time off in August.
I booked it as I was taking part in a competition but I think I'm gonna pull out.

The base of scafells is about 15 min drive from my house.
There's loads of stunning fells and walks round that area.

..Been just over two weeks in the new home. First night that I allowed the rabbits to sleep in the house and not in the porch, they destroyed one wall where they have bitten off most wall paper up to where they could reach! :(((

I didn't know they liked wallpaper! I covered that wall, but the next night they ate a wallpaper from a different wall.. :(((( They now have to have just a limited space where they are allowed! Dexter is not happy, but he is able to go out into the garden and he loves it..

Regarding my deposit from my old place. Well, it is going to make @DocteurRalph happy! ;) When finally after a day delay I manage to finish decorating and cleaning my old flat, and the landlady came to inspect it (not happy that I still had a whole car of things lying around); she agreed to give me my deposit back once I remove everything from the flat.

I had to leave my bike and a few things in the garden as they did not fit in my car, but returned to pick them up last Monday, 8 days after moving out. I sent the landlady a message if she would give me my deposit back.. She replied - yes, after I calculate how much you owe in rent! I knew it; I so knew it she would give me some blow, it was all going far too smooth..

Anyway, first two days of us arguing that I did not owe her any rent I manage to stay cool and handled things well. On the third day I lost it, but eventually managed to convince her that I did not move in on the 15th as she thought, but on the 1st. I ended up paying rent for 6 days, because I always thought that I moved in on the 3rd, and she charged me that extra day that I stayed to clean the flat up to 4th; and then I admitted that when I moved in, I moved in two days before the tenancy started and did not pay rent for those two days (for some reason which I can't remember, and her husband was dealing with it at that time, so she did not know), and I offered to pay for those two days now.

We had a further final argument how much that should be as she calculated 6 days rent at my last rent rate, but when I moved in I was paying less rent. She got all defensive and threatening to charge for damages in the flat (which I did not cause) when I challenged that. Anyway, to satisfy her greed, I agreed to pay 6 days rent at my last rent rate. She did not reply anything, but when I checked my bank statement, she put money which she owed me into my account. I sent her an acknowledment that I got it..

After 15 years having two different Indian landlords, now I have white folks for landlords. I was waiting for 'the catch' as the rent in the new place was relatively low, and they were very accommodating to my every request to allow me to sub-let, or to foster kids.

'The catch' turned out to be (so far), that there is a garage which belongs to the property. However, they converted it into a sort of condo where they have a bedroom with a small kitchen and a bathroom. All electricity and water gets charged to MY bill! She agreed to pay towards the electricity bill.. didn't mention anything about water. The water bill is a third more expensive here than it was for my flat where there were two of us, and here I am on my own.

Anyway, I'll see how they are as landlords. There are some things in the house which need repairs, but overall I am happy here. Need to find a lodger now to help me pay the rent.. so far, nobody has been interested :( (i'm going to remove my rabbits from the advert to see if they are the reason why people don't apply.. O:) )
