I don’t have anything worth living for.

I’ve learned time and time
again that life constantly lets you down. I don’t think there is fixing me anymore. Too many bad things have happened that I can’t get out of my head. I feel like what is the point of living if I’m constantly suffering. I wish I wasn’t such a coward that I could go through with it.

There are a million things worth living for. You are walking forward but your mind is looking the opposite direction. When that happens the only thing that can happen is you slam yourself into an immovable object.
What happened in your past may have had an affect on who you are today but it does not define who you can be tomorrow.

Don't give up on you. Cause you is ALL you got. Fight because you are worth fighting for.

Sometime it feels like life is too painful to deal with, sometime its ok, and some other time its beautiful. Its the cycle of our existence. Do try to find things that make you happy like hobbies etc...

I personally do volunteering and i find that it gives my life purpose.

I volunteer at an animal shelter in the city once a week. I just got a job and am realizing that that is the extent of life. You work until you die. I don’t have any free time because of work and when I do I am exhausted. I don’t even know what would make me happy anymore. If I won the lottery today I still don’t think I would be happy. My plan was if I got to this point I would run away but I’ve learned that I can’t runaway from my past and I can’t forget the things that have happened to me

No one is asking you to run away or forget your past. But we all learn from our mistakes. If you ever burned a finger on a hot oven, you only did that once. Why? Because you learned a good lesson. You don't go back everyday to that stove to try it again and again.
If every morning you read about a certain model car catching fire for no reason whatsoever, I doubt you would immediately go out to buy that particular car.
You are extremely bright music=life. The city you live in is a better city because of you and how you have affected others. They smile at you because they are genuinely pleased.
SMILE BACK ! ! !

Join the club. I just suffer along so I don't inflict further pain on those around me by doing something crazy.

It's worth considering trying to find time to take a rest. Volunteering for animals is a very admirable thing, but you need to take care of yourself too. Volunteer at least once a week to take care of yourself, get back to the shelter when you have the energy for it. You're your own best advocate. Work is part of life, a lot of work, but it's not the only thing. Keep up the struggle, take time to be kind to yourself, and don't give up. You can make it.

If you truly have nothing to live for, there's only one solution.
I'm not advocating it for you, but if that isn't your next step then there clearly is something to life for or some hope left.

I know of a woman who is paralyzed, and has to live hooked to a machine.

Yet she recently fell in love and got married and is looking forward to a lifetime with her husband that will be very different than the lifetime of her past.

As long as you are alive, the possibility that everything you know will change exists. As long as you are alive, you hold the keys to make life whatever you want it to be.

But once you're gone, whatever life you had is all the life you'll ever have, and you will have given up without ever knowing how the story was going to play out, or what plot twists you missed.

Life is hard! It's true! But persevering through all the difficulty is exactly what makes you feel alive and worthwhile. And it's even more true when you can help others along the way...they are your validation.

I've been in the dumps for a lot of my life. I've just started to realize that sometimes the media, other people, etc...make life out to be more than it is.

Think about people for all of humanity and all across the globe. Often humankind truly has had little to live for. It's only now, in this day and age, and in certain countries, that life has become more of an adventure as opposed to eking out a daily meal.

Yet, even those who eke out a daily meal are living...finding a reason to live.

So, maybe you are supposed to make a ripple in the pond where you are. Maybe you are supposed to affect those around you and in your inner circle. Without you, those people/souls may be distraught; it's your job to make their lives more bearable. And then, after you realize that, make time for yourself as well...even if it means to just sleep when you need sleep so you aren't so exhausted.

hey this is anon from the other post you're helping me with. we're talking the same thing here. all we're doing is noticing how full of ****shit everything is, how selfishly everyone is looking out for themselves with a backstabbing smile on their crooked faces, and not being able to do anything about it.

I know, and you’re right. I wish you weren’t but you are. Everything that could go wrong does and even if something good happeneds it’s not significant enough to make up for all the shitty things that happen
