A Self Introduction

Good morning world. I am not the typical poster for this site... I respond to posts more than I post by a lot. I am Sully. AKA Old Wolf from the old site. Cool to see this up again.

I have been a paramedic and in Search and Rescue for 15 years. Then moved to China to explore another part of the world. Got married, have 2 kids, taught English, Philosophy, Applied Science, Business Communication and Stress Management for a few years. Now I own my own translation company and am starting a consulting company here. I will also get into Import/Export soon.

In SAR we had psych evals every 6 months and PTSD prevention courses to make sure we were still mentally fit to do our job and to keep us that way. I also developed and taught my own Time Management courses for Emergency Services. I have now adapted those for China and teach them to companies here.

Drop in here and say hi. Add me if you are an old friend or want to be a new one. I can give advice on kids, stress, work, communication, life... Just bare in mind that I will tell you what you need to know. Not what you want to read. If you want to correct a problem, come talk to me. If you are just looking for sympathy and don't plan to change... Please don't waste either of our time.

Welcome Sully!

The name sounds familiar, but I donโ€™t know if we were really acquainted on the original Help.
Glad to have a your experiences and a blunt, objective opinion. ๐Ÿ˜„ Look forward to seeing you around!

I was an admin on the old help for a while. And a mod for a lot longer.

That would explain the vague recollection name! Sorry. Crappy memory. ๐Ÿ˜… Now that you say that it does seem more familiar.

Much of the site is done either by memory (small bit) or by reference from web.archive.org so if you see something off (especially on private pages which werenโ€™t available) just let me know. ๐Ÿ˜„

My brother is teaching a class on FEMA right now- and heโ€™s done paramed, SAR, wildland and all of that as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes I was part of the CNet days.

Thanks.

I did leave for quite some time... Hotel California you can't leave. This its a choice. So, bad analogy. Stop defusing this optimists dream of helping people with defeatism, depression and feelings of uselessness.

Thanks. No better time then the present to remedy that. I'm Sully, nice to meet you.
