What do you all think about a woman dating a guy who is a little over 4 years younger than her?

There is this guy who I really like. I thought we were the same age and we’re not. I’m 32 about to turn 33 at the very end of August and he turns 29 in January. He don’t know how old I am. I only know how old he is because I found his social media. Now, I’m worried that he won’t be interested because I am 4 years older. It doesn’t bother me that I am older than him, I just don’t know how he will feel about it. Any advice? Should I go for it anyways or forget about it?

I don't see a problem. You're both adults and the difference is small anyway.

Don't hide or lie about your age, that would be a problem.

I'm a guy- I don't see a problem with it. Once you're past 25, 5 years is basically nothing.

Just talk to him about it.

Age should not be an issue when passed into adulthood. Many people are way too concerned about age and end up miserable because their narrow parameters have not been met.

Miss, don't seek a reason to discredit yourself (or him). Chances are, you'll find one in the end.
You like him. You want to see whither this affinity leads. An elaborate estimate doesn't take you there. Let it fall on solid ground.

Go for it! Unless he isn’t at the same maturity level as you and that bothers you, it shouldn’t be an issue. Women tend to outlive men anyways.

He probably won’t care. My aunt was 20 years older than my uncle (she recently passed away at the age of 60-something). They started dating when he was 19 years old.

If he turns out to be a weirdo though, definitely leave! 😛

Like Rockster says age doesn't matter much after about 25. When I was 25 I was dating a girl that was quite a bit older than me, 33 to be exact. Anyway we dated a couple of months and it was really hot and heavy all summer long. But she had this daughter that was staying with her dad, who was my girlfriend's ex-husband and when she came home it got really weird. The daughter was 15 and had a crush on me too so that was the end of that. It was a shame because the girl was really classy and had a great job and a lot of money but the whole daughter thing was too much for all three of us.

Age should not even be a factor when both parties are over 21 and free.
I know somebody personally who is 41, and involved with a 24 year old younger man.
They are soul mates.
They have been together for over 5 years.
And to see them together is VERY uplifting.
People really do love being in their presence...I am one of those people.
Why does age even have to be a factor if both people are so completely happy together?
Enjoy the goodness of what you have...don't analyze it so much.

Weeell, since 2006ish all my guys were 'toyboys'..

I enjoyed it at first (the last one 9yrs younger), but i am more comfortable when a guy is a bit older (married 13 years older male, but behaved like an adolescent, and he still is at 54!)..

My bro is 26, hes just moved in with his gf who is 31 in a few months. Theyre great together and no one even cares about their age.

So Mya, you don't know how old the guy is and don't care? Hope he's not 4 years younger, that could cause problems ha ha. And I've never heard of the half your age plus 7 thing, that means an 18 year old shouldn't date anyone older than 22 if you do it from the older person's perspective... I've broken that rule when I was the younger and the older person in a relationship.

I do care, DocteurRalphy, but what am i supposed to do?! :(( She is an adult now.. she knows how i messed up everything and i made sure to point out all the disasterous consequences; she still chose to go and not tell me his age.. (nah, not 4 years younger; but maybe 40!?! :0 )
